Wouldn’t it be nice to sell your home faster so you can move into your new home faster? There are a few things you can do inside your home that doesn’t cost you very much and some are even free. A bit of time and a small budget to get your home show ready is all it takes most times to have your home sell faster.
Paint the walls. It’s a cheap and easy way to update your home. Most new home buyers want the feel of new in a home they would like to buy. Painting the walls of your home gives them that.

Tidy up!! You should never show your home if its messy. No one wants to see pet hair, old food and dust bunnies in a home they want to live in. When a home is dirty or messy a potential buyer wonders what else is wrong in the house that they don’t see. So get everyone to clean their rooms and tidy up the house before a real estate representative brings a home buyer in for a showing. Would you buy a car from a dealership if it had left over food on the floor and stains all over the seats? I don’t think so. You pay a lot of money for a car and a home, you want it looking nice before you get in it.

Be Flexible. You are the one selling your home, you need to be ready at any time to show a potential buyer. You must think like a sales person now. I’m sure you wouldn’t appreciate a sales person not willing to show you a product when you are at the store. Selling a home works the same way. If the time doesn’t work for you to show your home, offer alternatives or ask for alternatives. You’re ready to move, so are the people out there looking for a home. Make it easy for them to say yes to your home.

Declutter: Take all of your family pictures, little treasures and collections off of the shelves and start packing them up. It’s really hard for a buyer to image their family in your home when all they see is your family pictures and momento’s. You are going to have to pack anyway, so why not start now. It will help you stay ahead of everything you need to do when you move and your home will look great for the buyer. It’s a win/win for you both. But if you have a pet, they love boxes, so check the boxes before you tape them up.
