Market Shift Expected, Now Is The Time To Sell

A shift in the real estate market to lower house prices is predicted in the new year which will possibly make it a buyer's market. Now would be the time to sell your home before that shift happens.

If you’re thinking of selling your house, you probably have a lot of questions that need to be answered. Knowing what to ask will help you get your home ready for sale, make you less nervous about the selling process and hopefully give you the best outcome.

Here are some of the most important questions to ask a realtor:
  • How much is our house likely to sell for on today’s market in our neighbourhood? What should the listing price be? What will the selling costs be?
  • How long would be realistic for our house to sell?
  • How do we prepare our house for sale? Will we need to make any major improvements and if so do we need to hire a contractor to do this?
  • Will we need to stage our home by hiring a professional stager or can we do that ourselves?
  • When we get an offer what happens next? What if the offer price is lower than we anticipated? How do we manage negotiations?
  • What will be the next steps after an offer is accepted? What can we expect to happen on closing day?
  • How is finding a new home for us affect the process of the one we are selling?
  • What other professionals can we expect to hire during this process? How do we find them?
  • How can we help make the selling process easier and less stressful?

Knowing the answers to these questions, you will feel far more confident about the selling process.
