Top 5 Spring Home Maintenance Tips For Your Home

Spring is one of the busiest times for a home owner and it can be tough to tackle all of the chores that need doing.
With the days getting warmer and longer, now is the perfect time to get those spring chores started.
To help get you motivated and help keep you on tast, we have compiled a list of the top 10 you should take care of first.
Replace Your HVAC Filter
Although this should be done on average once every 4 - 6 weeks, most people forget. Staying on top of your HVAC can dratically prolong the life of your system. So, if you didn't take care of this all winter, nows the time.

Clean Your Gutters and Downspouts
We don't always get all of the fallen leaves from the fall out of our getters before the snow arrives. Spring often showers us with plenty of rain, but those leaves and debris have been sitting there for months and get stuck. You want the rain water to flow easily from your roof and through your gutters to prevent water from leaking into your foundation.

Prepare Your Lawn Maintenance Equipment
Charge up those batteries for the equipment you have that runs on recharable batteries. Give the tools a good test run to make sure they still run properly.
For your lawn mower, replacing the old spark plug, old gas and oil plus changing the air filter is an easy way to prepare your mower for the grass cutting season. You don't want to wait until that first grass cutting to take care of this.

Check Your Air Conditioning
Before you know it the heat of the summer will be here. Don't wait until you come home from work on a hot, humid day to discover your air conditioning isn't working.
Call your air conditioning person and have them come out and service your unit.

Replace Or Clean Your Dryer Vent
Accumulated dryer lint is known as a leading cause of fires in the home. You'll be surprised at how much lint collects along the vent, even if your vent is directly though the wall. If you can't easy remove the link from your vent, take you vent apart and clean it out or replace it all together. They aren't that expensive to change for a new one.
