You Need to Be Banned From Your Own Open House

There isn’t a Real Estate Representative that wants you at your own open house, and actually neither do the potential buyers! You may think that by you being there you can answer questions that your agent may not be able to, after all you own the house.

As a home owner, you love your house. When a potential buyer makes some negative comments about it, it’s hard to hear. You start to defend your home when a buyer makes a negative comment and then the emotions start to come into play.

People have lost a potential buyer because of a conversation that was too emotional from the home owner. You are too close to it, you love your home, even if you are moving.

People coming to your home become hesitant to ask questions when the home owner is there. And they rarely phone the agent back to ask. You’re asking them to do something else they could have done right at the open house.

You don’t know what these potential buyers really want in a house, your Real Estate Representative does.
If you are serious about selling your home, let your agent do their job. It’s why you’re paying them in the end.

Don’t lose a prospective buyer because you wouldn’t go out. If you don’t have anywhere you can go, go for a walk. We’re all told we should walk more anyway. If you’re too tired for that, go see a movie.

An open house is usually planned well in advance you can even check online for events happening in Ottawa, check out what’s happening in your own city. There are loads of events, especially in the spring summer and fall for you and the entire family to see. Here’s a link to help you out Ottawa Festival and Events.
